SHADE R. WHALEN, M.D.
Dr. Whalen grew up in the central Nebraska area.
He went to Drake University and then onto UNMC (University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha) where he graduated with a M.D. in 2003. Completed a Pediatric Residency at UAB (University of Alabama, Birmingham) between 2003 – 2006.
Dr. Whalen is a Board Certified Pediatrician and member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). He has worked for Children & Adolescent Clinic for over 17 years and has a special interest in Neonatology, behavioral and special needs children.
He lives in Marquette with his wife Kari and four kids; Caleb, Briggs, Oakley & Baylor.
DANIEL LEONARD, D.O.
Dr Daniel Leonard has been with Children & Adolescent Clinic since 2011 and is a crucial team member at both the clinic and Mary Lanning Healthcare Hospital.
Completing his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at A.T. Still University in Kirksville Missouri, Dr. Leonard then went on to complete a Pediatric Residency at the University of South Florida, Tampa.
Dr. Leonard maintains an academic position with Omaha Children’s Hospital and University of Nebraska school of medicine to train future physicians. Dr. Leonard serves as the medical director for inpatient pediatric medicine at Mary Lanning Hospital and Director of the level II NICU.
In his spare time, Dr Leonard likes to keep fit and active, as well as running around with his ever-growing herd of Hereford cattle.
ANDREA NOLLETTE, MD
Dr. Andrea Nollette joined Children & Adolescent Clinic in August of 2023 and is a team member at both the clinic and Mary Lanning Healthcare.
Graduating from Hastings College and attending medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Nollette completed her Pediatric Residency at the University College of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
Dr. Nollette was born and raised in Omaha Nebraska. When she is not practicing medicine she enjoys fishing, hiking, and hunting with her husband Mark and their dogs Oakley and Ruby.
ANDRIA HEAD, PA-C
Andria attended undergraduate at Simpson College. She received her Bachelors Degree in Physician Assistant studies at Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center. Andria joined Children & Adolescent clinic in June of 2007 after working four years at Adel Family Medical Center.
Andria and her husband Clint have two kids, Jordan and Sydney and are big supporters of the Hastings community.
Andria enjoys spending time with her children and family, coaching softball, and attending various activities that her kids are involved in.
APRIL ROSTVET, PA-C
April, a Hastings native, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in General Biology from Concordia University in 2012. She attended Union College in Lincoln, NE where she received a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies in 2016.
She has always had a passion for pediatric medicine and has worked at Children & Adolescent Clinic upon graduation. Educating families on preventative medicine and ways to keep the whole family happy and healthy are some of her favorite topics.
In her free time, she enjoys taking walks with her family, Alex, Cody, Alma, and two Great Danes, Ruby & Eleanor. She loves to explore new recipes and foods, exercise, read, and pretty much anything outdoors.
JULIE SHAW, PA-C
Julie attended undergrad at Hastings College. She received her Bachelor of Science in Radiography from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1998. Upon completion of that program, she entered the UNMC Physician Assistant Program and graduated in 2001 with her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies and became board certified with a special emphasis in surgery. Julie then worked for 12 years as an Orthopedic PA before joining Children & Adolescent Clinic in May 2013.
Julie and her husband Brian, live in Fairfield where she grew up, with their four sons, Josh, Ethan, Christian, Charlie and daughter Delaney.
Julie’s interests include spending time with her children and family, coaching basketball and running her kids to all of their school, scouts, church and athletic activities.
LAUREN MAYFIELD, N.P.
Lauren graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2016. She worked as a pediatric RN for 5 years at Bryan Health in Lincoln, NE and Children’s Physicians Clinic in Kearney, NE.
Lauren continued her education at the University of Nebraska Medical Center where she graduated with her Master’s in Advanced Practice Nursing in 2021 and became a Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband Dustin, daughter Nora, and Pomeranian, Sophie.
ABBY HANSEN, PA-C
Abby joined Children and Adolescent Clinic in January of 2022 with a vast amount of experience in Family Practice, Emergency Room, and Urgent Care. She has been a Board Certified Physician Assistant for almost 10 years.
Abby and her husband Joey have 3 boys, Carter, Callen, and Crue.
Abby enjoys spending time with her children and family as well as attending their various activities.
